Possible Pain Relief: a Non-Opioid Medication is in Development

A drug in development by Vertex Pharmaceuticals shows new potential for pain relief. Suzetrigine (formerly VX-548) is moving through clinical trials with positive results for use in acute (short-term) pain and neuropathic pain.

The side effects and interactions aren't yet clear. However, I'm watching since this drug has the potential to be the first new type of non-opioid medicine for acute and neuropathic pain in many years.
